HB36 РEnact Enhanced Access to Eye Care, has met with fierce opposition from groups such as the North Carolina Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons (NCSEPS) and the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS). A recent article in the Raleigh News & Observer highlights the goal of the bill, in which optometrists are seeking to expand their scope of practice into performing eye surgery with lasers and scalpels.
